Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Neuro/PCU position at a 97-bed community hospital, requiring telemetry competency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a Neuro/PCU patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; manager will accept 3x12 or 4x12 schedules
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including like units or sister facilities, may be required
- Charting via Epic
- Free parking available on-site
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact license currently in hand (SC license must be active prior to start)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Telemetry competency required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to Neuro/PCU patients in a telemetry setting
- A virtual interview with the Nursing Director is required for all candidates
- Required online modules must be completed prior to start date; expect access to modules by the Wednesday before your start date
- Attendance at staff meetings is required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to accepting the assignment; no additional PTO will be approved after the assignment is accepted
- Schedules must remain flexible to meet the needs of the unit
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- Royal Blue scrubs required
