Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with a valid CA RN license, at least 2 years of PACU experience, and prior travel experience for a 13-week day shift contract at an acute care hospital in San Francisco.

Details

• Phase I PACU setting within a large acute care hospital system
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, neuro/spine, ortho, thoracic, vascular, transplant, robotics, bariatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, and more
• Requires knowledge of peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, and pharmacology
• Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
• 4x10-hour day shifts with start times of 9:00 AM or 12:30 PM
• No weekend requirements
• Floating to other campuses within the health system may be required based on census

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC) and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high-acuity hospital setting
• ICU experience required
• Extensive cardiac/cath lab experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 2 supervisory references obtained within the last year required for consideration
• 7-year work history verification required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include peri-anesthesia nursing care from admission through discharge, airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, medication administration, and post-anesthesia recovery across multiple surgical specialties
• Key clinical skills include arterial line management, CVP monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, ventilator care, chest tube management, and extubation
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per contract; only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract
• Covered holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (holiday period begins at 7:00 PM the evening before and ends at 7:00 AM the day after)
• All certifications must be issued by AHA or ARC
