Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, with NM or Compact RN licensure required.
Details
- Day shift schedule, 7:00–19:30 (3x12-hour shifts per week), with the option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting with 100–200 facility births per month
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- 4–6 weekend shifts required per 6-week block
- Floating to like units within scope of practice may be required based on facility needs, with a brief unit orientation provided
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required; pending NM/Compact license accepted but must be obtained prior to start
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP (pending certifications accepted)
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, not including new graduate orientation
- Proficiency in antepartum care, obstetric triage, external fetal monitoring (EFM), sterile vaginal exams, and circulating/recovering C-sections
- Experience with IV therapy, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No RTO will be approved during the first week of orientation; no more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved for the contract
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Onsite orientation includes non-billable module completion (approximately 4–6 hours for RNs)
