Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and NM or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a Women's Hospital setting
- Facility averages 100-200 births per month
- Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend requirement of 4-6 shifts per 6-week period
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Floating to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
- Care includes antepartum, high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulating and recovery
Requirements
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (pending certifications accepted)
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, not including new graduate orientation
- Experience with any electronic charting system required, Epic experience preferred
- Skilled in fetal monitoring (external), sterile vaginal exams, and OB triage
- Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and performing IV therapy/phlebotomy
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include antepartum care, labor and delivery management, and assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
- Circulate and recover patients for C-sections as needed
- Scrubs provided
- First-time travelers welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
- Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Limited RTO auto-approved at time of submission, with none permitted during the first week of orientation
