Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Albuquerque, NM, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience with a day shift schedule of 4x12-hour shifts.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting delivering 100–200 births per month
- Day shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- 4–6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- Antepartum experience is part of the role
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Floating to like units within scope of practice may be required based on facility needs, with brief unit orientation provided
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required (pending NM/Compact license accepted, but must be obtained prior to start)
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP (pending certifications accepted)
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of L&D experience (not including new graduate orientation time)
- Proficiency with antepartum care including sterile vaginal exams, obstetric triage, and external fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Experience with labor and delivery management: vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery
- Medication administration experience including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) experience required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation; up to 3 days of RTO may be approved during the contract
- Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted for this position
