Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with experience in cardiac catheterization procedures, ARRT licensure, and proficiency in Epic EHR for a 4x10 day shift contract at an academic medical center in Kentucky.
Details
- Work in a cardiac cath lab at an academic teaching hospital
- Procedures include diagnostic catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, left and right heart catheterization, ASD closures, cardiac stent placement, TAVR, Watchman, ECMO, Impella insertion, temporary pacemaker, EP studies, AICD insertion/programming, pacemaker insertion, LAA closure, thoracentesis, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and peripheral vascular studies
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and maintaining sterile field, room circulation, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG lead placement, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Charting in Epic EHR (required) and McKesson
- Philips Single and Bi-Plane Angiography experience preferred
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Call requirements include 1 late call per week (5:30 PM – 7:30 PM), 1 call shift per week (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM), and 1–2 call weekends per 6-week schedule (Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM)
- May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
Requirements
- Active KY ARRT (R) license required; pending license at time of consideration is acceptable but must be obtained before start date
- KY state or compact license required if applicable
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- PALS required before start date (not required at time of consideration)
- Epic EHR experience required
- Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency in scrubbing, sterile field maintenance, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG lead placement, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with rotablader, venous access, and McKesson/rhythm interpretation preferred
- Must be able to perform vascular studies, cardiac cath lab procedures, and EP studies as listed in job details
- 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- An EKG onboarding exam is required
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; any RTO requested after submission will not be approved
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility should disclose that history, as rehire eligibility will be verified
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from all affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- Scrubs and dress code details not specified; candidates should confirm during onboarding
