Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in North Carolina, requiring EKG exam passage and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including potential float to sister campus
• No on-call required
• Epic EMR used; experience required
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand; pending license not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance — no exceptions
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrub color: royal blue and white
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a maximum of 4 days; only 1 holiday can be approved
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice (2 contract limit); after reaching the extension limit, travelers must wait 6 months before reapplying
• Pre-start modules are required and estimated at 4–10 hours
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
