Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a travel nursing position at a 615-bed Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Florida, requiring ACLS/BLS certification and on-call availability.

Details

• Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting within a 615-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designated facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on day shift
• 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekend work required (every other weekend)
• On-call required approximately 10–12 days per month, including every other weekend
• Must reside within 30 minutes of the facility while on call
• Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
• Procedures include cardiac catheterization, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, cardiac stent placement, and circulating procedures
• Conscious sedation administration and monitoring required
• Skills in Activated Clotting Time (ACT) and IV therapy required
• Xper system experience preferred
• Floating within the hospital may be required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Conscious sedation and telemetry skills required
• Date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers may be considered if highly experienced
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions are accepted
• Candidates who were previously permanent employees at any BayCare facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before applying as a traveler
• Return travelers must have completed a contract within the last year (since 7/1/2022); currently, return travelers are only being considered for ICU, MICU, CVICU, ED, PCU, and MS/Tele specialties — Cath Lab is not included
• No RTO (time off requests) is permitted during the contract; any RTO must be approved directly by the manager and is not guaranteed
• A pass/fail EKG exam is required (up to 3 attempts allowed)
• Pre-start and annual online modules are required; hours vary by specialty
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• This is a smoke-free facility
• Local candidates (within 100 miles) are not accepted
