Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring 3+ years of experience and CNOR certification preference.
Details
- Work in the Main Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:30
- On-call requirement of 8-12 hours per month
- No block scheduling available
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Floating required within skillset based on unit needs
- Patient ratios vary based on census and acuity when floated
- Handles diverse surgical caseload including ortho trauma and spine, neuro/craniotomy for tumor, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, SP), bariatrics (gastric sleeve/bypass), and laparoscopic/open GYN and general surgery cases
- Robotic surgery platforms include Da Vinci Xi and SP systems
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room experience required
- Scrub experience required
- Strong trauma skills required
- Scrub and circulating experience highly preferred for neuro/craniotomy cases
- Travel experience preferred but not required
- Two current professional references required
- Must disclose any international work history or permanent residency
Additional Information
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, neuro, ortho, GYN, general surgery, robotics, bariatrics, and trauma cases
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Contract is expected to be the traveler's primary work assignment
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible for travel assignments
- Open or active background/license hits are not accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
