Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring GA or compact license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiac Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
  • 16-bed unit with an average daily census of 16 and a 1:5 patient ratio
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • Treats conditions including post MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
  • Performs telemetry monitoring, EKG, and Doppler procedures
  • Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with 1:5 patient ratio required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration
  • Experience with IV therapy, central line, and PICC line management preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
  • First-time travelers are accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring, emergency response, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and administer PCA and procedural sedation
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
  • RTO blackout dates include Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
