Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring prior travel experience and proficiency with Cerner EMR on a 3x12 night shift schedule.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a community hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Floating may be required within the hospital
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHM
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, infusion pump management, and blood product administration
• Experience with Labor & Delivery management including C-section circulation, vaginal delivery assistance, and hemorrhage/shock response
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering L&D medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• SSN, DOB, and a copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include triage of obstetrical patients, antepartum care, postpartum care, neonatal care in the delivery room, and pain management support including epidural and PCA
• Postpartum duties include couplet care, fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, breastfeeding/lactation support, and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year to be eligible
• 13-week contract (approximately)
