Description

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN - Pediatrics for a Trauma Level 1 facility requiring TX or compact RN license and 2+ years of OR experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Surgery unit of a Trauma Level 1 facility with 14 operating rooms plus 2 endoscopy procedure rooms
• 12-week contract assignment
• Weekday schedule, Monday through Friday, 5/8-hour shifts
• Shift hours are 06:30-15:00
• Call requirements apply for this unit
• Perform both circulating and scrub nurse responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing (Standard or Compact)
• BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
• ACLS or other Advanced Life Support certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Diploma from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
• 1+ year of OR experience preferred
• Pediatric OR experience a plus
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Coordinate care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient surgical workflows and communication
• Monitor patient status and document care accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) as circulating nurse
• Maintain sterile technique, prepare instruments, and assist surgeons as scrub nurse to promote procedural efficiency and safety
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate that varies by facility location
