Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Operating Room night shift position requiring at least 1 year of OR experience.
Details
- , Operating Room department within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 4x10 hours, 11:00 PM-7:30 AM, Sunday-Thursday
- No call or floating requirements
- Night shift OR RNs work as the only RN in the department during their shift
- Cares for patients across all age groups from newborn/neonate through elderly
- Handles a range of surgical cases including general surgery, laparoscopic procedures, GYN, GU, orthopedic, neuro/spine, crani, trauma, plastics, procurement, ENT, oral/dental, thoracic, vascular, endovascular, and endoscopy
- Priority case types include ortho, neuro, podiatry, and cysto
- No transplant or open heart/intervention cases
- Uses specialized equipment including Cell Saver, Rapid Transfusion, ACT, Glucometer, MAKO, Stealth, Holmium/Lumenis Laser, and Da Vinci Robot
- Utilizes Epic and SBAR charting systems, currently transitioning to Omnicell
Requirements
- , Active RN license (NH state or Compact) required
- Minimum 1 year of acute Operating Room experience required
- Required certification: BLS
- Preferred certification: ACLS
- Experience required in Ortho, Neuro, Gyn, General, Bariatrics, Podiatry, and Urology cases
- Some experience with vascular, ENT, and breast/plastics cases required
- Skills required include ALIF, anterior cervical fusion, cervical fusions, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF, ankle fusion, bunionectomy, arthroscopy, closed and open reduction of fractures, total joint replacement, and cystoscopy
- Preferred experience with Da Vinci Robotics and Mako Surgical System
- Only AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
- Background or license history requires facility approval prior to offer
- Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date
- References required for consideration

- , First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Any required RTO must be made up by extending the end of the contract
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility accepted at a reduced local rate
- Candidates who have ever been employed by any facility associated with the health system are not eligible for consideration, regardless of separation length
