Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring an active NY RN license and prior successful travel assignment experience.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
- 12-hour day shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- 3 shifts per week over a 13-week assignment
- Weekend, holiday, and call coverage required
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Current critical care experience preferred
- Must have completed at least one successful prior travel nursing assignment; new travelers will not be considered
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual patient assessments
- Assess and address safety concerns, including safe use of lifts and patient mobility techniques
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under stressful situations
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
- May be required to assume charge nurse duties
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
