Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a 366-bed acute care academic medical center in Norwalk, CT, requiring a CT RN license and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• 366-bed acute care academic medical center setting
• Labor & Delivery unit with possible float to maternity
• Patient care includes scheduled inductions, repeat C-sections, non-stress tests, triage, infant care, and 1:1 RN care for epidural placements and Magnesium Sulfate administration
• Day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, per unit needs
• Every other weekend required
• Cerner used for documentation (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted CT RN license (or compact RN license) required; completed license application may be submitted in lieu of active license
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP - Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (EFM) required — note that Advanced EFM is NOT acceptable as a substitute
• C-EFM (NCC) required within one year of assignment start; C-EFM candidates are strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
• NICU experience preferred
• Two professional references rated 'standard or above average' from a manager or above within the prior year in the same specialty

Additional Information

• Provide 1:1 nursing care for patients receiving epidurals and Magnesium Sulfate, and manage triage, inductions, repeat C-sections, and non-stress tests
• Candidates who have previously worked at any Northwell or Nuvance Health location are subject to an eligibility review process before consideration
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but may be considered at a reduced rate
• Travelers will be required to complete onboarding modules prior to assignment start
• Timekeeping is managed through Kronos
