Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, post-surgical, renal, and respiratory cases
• Patient ratios of 1:5–1:6 (may fluctuate with census)
• Meditech EMR (experience preferred)
• Night shift, rotating 36/48 schedule (3x12 one week, 4x12 the following week — 84 hours per two-week pay period)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current MS/Tele experience required
• Driver's license with permanent address is required
• 2 professional references required: 1 charge nurse or higher and 1 supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac monitoring

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
• Must be willing to work either a major or minor holiday each holiday period
• Orientation is conducted on a bi-weekly basis
• Travelers who have worked within the ARH system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
• Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant experience
