Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift travel position at a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital in Washington state.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center (629 beds)
• Teaching hospital environment
• Respiratory therapy scope includes floor care, ER coverage, code response, and Rapid Response team participation
• Floating between units and potentially between sister facilities within the state is expected
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling required
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity
• No on-call required
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• RRT credential required
• Active Washington state RRT license required at time of consideration
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning, and high-pressure alarm troubleshooting
• Experience with airway management including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
• Medication administration experience including aerosol delivery, MDI, and inhaled medications (e.g., albuterol, nitric oxide, racemic epinephrine, and others)
• ABG interpretation and oxygen therapy skills required
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include respiratory care across floor, ER, code, and Rapid Response settings
• Travelers may be asked to float between sister facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• Scrub color: any color permitted for RRT staff
• Parking is provided at no cost
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but at a different pay rate
• Former permanent staff of this Providence facility must wait at least 3 months and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility before returning as a traveler
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
• Candidates will be asked whether they have previously worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry/per-diem
