Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift travel position at a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital in Washington state.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center (629 beds)
- Teaching hospital environment
- Respiratory therapy scope includes floor care, ER coverage, code response, and Rapid Response team participation
- Floating between units and potentially between sister facilities within the state is expected
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling required
- Patient ratios vary based on acuity
- No on-call required
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- RRT credential required
- Active Washington state RRT license required at time of consideration
- BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning, and high-pressure alarm troubleshooting
- Experience with airway management including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
- Medication administration experience including aerosol delivery, MDI, and inhaled medications (e.g., albuterol, nitric oxide, racemic epinephrine, and others)
- ABG interpretation and oxygen therapy skills required
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include respiratory care across floor, ER, code, and Rapid Response settings
- Travelers may be asked to float between sister facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Scrub color: any color permitted for RRT staff
- Parking is provided at no cost
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but at a different pay rate
- Former permanent staff of this Providence facility must wait at least 3 months and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility before returning as a traveler
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
- Candidates will be asked whether they have previously worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry/per-diem
