Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week assignment at a 562-bed Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — 562-bed, Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility
- Weekend-only schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 3x12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- On-call required as needed
- No floating within or outside the unit
- Charting in Cerner (experience required)
- Required MRI skills span multiple body regions including abdomen/pelvis (Abdomen, Abdominal MRA, Abdominal MRV, Female Pelvis, MRCP, Male Pelvis), head/neck (Brain, Cranial Nerves, Face/Soft Tissue Neck, Head MRA, Head MRV, Neck MRV, Orbits), chest, spine (Cervical, Lumbar, Sacrum/Coccyx, Spinal Trauma, Thoracic, Thoracic MRA), musculoskeletal (Foot, Hand, Hip/Bony Pelvis, Knee, Lower/Upper Extremity Long Bones, Shoulder, Sternum, TMJ with/without contrast), cardiovascular (MR Angio Lower Extremity with Bilateral Runoff), and special imaging procedures (CINE, Diffusion non-brain, Gradient Echo Imaging, MIP, MRP, Perfusion, Peripheral MRA, Spin Echo, Surface Coils, T1/T2 Weighted Images)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
- ARRT (MR) certification preferred
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency across a broad range of MRI body regions and special imaging procedures as listed in job details
- Active IL state license required if applicable
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- AHA or Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards are not accepted
- Background check findings must be disclosed prior to consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent or PRN employees must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO of up to 5 non-holiday days is ideally the maximum; any RTO beyond 5 days requires facility approval
- Candidates must arrive in Illinois at least 3 business days prior to the compliance due date to complete fingerprinting requirements
- Compliance tasks including lab appointment, DocuSign documents, and badge photo must be completed within 1 week of contract signing
- Orientation begins with a virtual, at-home day; required modules must be completed by 4:00 PM CST on Day 1
- Siemens equipment experience preferred
- Parking is available at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation
- Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
