Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of experience, with night shifts and a 100-mile radius requirement.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Schedule options: 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to other units required
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Epic EMR (preferred)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state or Compact license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current AHA BLS certification required (AHA certifications only accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- IV therapy skills including peripheral line care, PICC line management, central line blood draw, and blood product administration
- Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Candidates must be willing to complete a drug test within 12–14 calendar days prior to start and may be asked to repeat if needed
- Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning (CBL) modules averaging 4–5 hours; modules are non-billable and completed during orientation
- Travel nurses are expected to actively support nursing student clinical education alongside their regular patient care duties
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration
- Preferred skills include post-angiogram and post-cardiac surgery care, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury experience
