Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU) position at an academic medical center, requiring both PICU and NICU experience with Epic proficiency.

Details

• This is a Pediatric Float Pool (SRO) position floating to multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med-Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED Boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Located within an academic teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating required per facility float policy

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required
• Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (may be submitted as pending; certificate has an out-of-pocket cost of $185)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must be comfortable working in NICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Peds ED settings
• Prior NICU/PICU float pool experience required; candidates without travel experience may be considered if they have prior NICU/PICU float pool experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• BSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Peds PACU experience is highly preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract; no RTO will be approved during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or internal travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
• No radius rule — local candidates are accepted
• Preferred skills include ECMO, CRRT, congenital heart disease/repair, ICP monitoring, and Pediatric CVICU experience
• Specialty-specific orientation modules are completed during onboarding
