Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU) position at an academic medical center, requiring both PICU and NICU experience with Epic proficiency.

Details

  • This is a Pediatric Float Pool (SRO) position floating across multiple pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED Boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
  • Academic/teaching hospital setting
  • Pediatric patient population with a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00), 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Floating required across pediatric units per facility float policy

Requirements

  • Active VA or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand prior to start)
  • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
  • Infant-Driven Feeding (Dr. Brown's) Certificate required (may be submitted as pending; candidate is responsible for associated cost)
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
  • Must be experienced in and comfortable with NICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric ED
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Prior travel experience required; candidates with previous NICU/PICU float pool experience may be considered in lieu of travel experience
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Valid Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
  • Teaching hospital experience required

Additional Information

  • Peds PACU experience is highly preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Preferred certifications: ACLS, APHON, CPHON, OCN
  • Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract; no RTO will be approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or internal travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation and require leadership approval; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
  • No radius restriction for this position; local candidates are accepted
  • Specialty-specific orientation modules are completed during orientation and recorded in Workday
