Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Float Pool position requiring PICU and NICU experience, Epic proficiency, and comfort across multiple pediatric specialty units.
Details
- This is a Pediatric Float Pool (SRO) position at an academic teaching hospital, floating across multiple units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Med/Surg, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
- Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand before start)
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
- Must be comfortable with NICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric ED patient populations
- Prior travel experience required; candidates with previous NICU/PICU float pool experience may be considered in lieu of general travel experience
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS, and Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate (may be submitted with certification pending; note: certification has an out-of-pocket cost of $185)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- BSN preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Valid government-issued Driver's License and Social Security card required for consideration
- Preferred skills include: Peds PACU experience, CRRT, ECMO, ICP monitoring, congenital heart disease/repair, post cardiac surgery, ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD), and CVICU experience
Additional Information
- Candidates must be proficient and comfortable floating across all assigned pediatric units within their scope of practice
- Floating is required and governed by the facility's float policy
- Previous permanent staff or internal travelers at this health system must have a minimum 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning; external travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
- RTO up to 40 hours per 13-week contract; no RTO will be approved during the first 2 weeks of assignment
- All requested RTO must be disclosed prior to offer acceptance, as no additional RTO will be approved afterward
- No radius restriction for this position; local candidates are accepted
