Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.

Details

• Neuro ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
• Float between the ICU and PCU based on staffing needs
• Travel float required among five hospital locations within the health system based on staffing needs
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required — must be currently in hand and verified active via Nursys
• Required certifications: BLS (must not expire within 30 days of assignment start), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required, with recent experience within the last 12 months
• Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrating vasoactive drips required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and post-neurosurgery management required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring required
• COVID-19 vaccine required — no exemptions
• Flu vaccine required — no exemptions
• Two current references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must pass a Dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of contract signing — only two attempts allowed, and the exam must be completed on a PC (not an iOS device); failure to pass results in contract cancellation
• Pre-employment labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Candidates must be clean-shaven for fit testing prior to starting on the unit
• Orientation modules are completed during orientation and vary by specialty
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront — requests after submission will not be accepted, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Block scheduling is not permitted
• First-time travelers are accepted but not preferred
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the primary facility are subject to a local pay rate
