Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Medical Intermediate (Stepdown) unit of a hospital setting
- 32-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3-1:4
- Cares for patients post op CABG/Valve, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain
- Uses equipment including chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
- EMR system used is Epic
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- No call requirements
- Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full availability that week
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in the state of Missouri (compact accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown experience in an inpatient setting required
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
- Uphold patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with facility standards
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted
- Scrub color required is all black with facility logo on top; hoodies, non-logo jackets, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, and fake nails are not permitted
- RTO of 5 days or less allowed, with make-up time required during the assignment
- Only one holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, though bill rate will be reduced by $10 from the posted travel rate
- Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the radius
- Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center
