Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a 47-bed acute care facility in Northern New Mexico, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and NM or Compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit on the 2nd floor of a 47-bed acute care facility serving as a major healthcare provider for Northern New Mexico
- Primary patient population is adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on surgical and telemetry cases
- Patient ratio is 5:1
- GE equipment is used on the unit
- EMR system is Medhost
- Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM
- Minimum of 4 weekend hours required per month
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to other units may occasionally be required, though it rarely occurs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — AHA-issued certifications required
- Experience caring for surgical patients required
- Stepdown unit experience and ability to read and interpret telemetry strips preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry environment, including management of geriatric and post-surgical patients
- A team-oriented attitude and ability to work effectively with limited resources are important for this role
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
