Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a 47-bed acute care facility in Northern New Mexico, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and NM or Compact RN license.

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit on the 2nd floor of a 47-bed acute care facility serving as a major healthcare provider for Northern New Mexico
• Primary patient population is adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on surgical and telemetry cases
• Patient ratio is 5:1
• GE equipment is used on the unit
• EMR system is Medhost
• Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM
• Minimum of 4 weekend hours required per month
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units may occasionally be required, though it rarely occurs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — AHA-issued certifications required
• Experience caring for surgical patients required
• Stepdown unit experience and ability to read and interpret telemetry strips preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry environment, including management of geriatric and post-surgical patients
• A team-oriented attitude and ability to work effectively with limited resources are important for this role
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
