Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of ICU/IMCU experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a comprehensive cancer center in Buffalo, NY.
Details
- Inpatient respiratory therapy role covering acute care areas, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics within a comprehensive cancer center
- Assignment locations may vary based on departmental needs, requiring coverage across multiple clinical areas within the facility
- Night shift schedule: 40 hours/week across 3 shifts — one shift 5:00 PM–7:30 AM and two shifts 5:00 PM–6:30 AM
- Weekend work required as needed
- No major holidays required
- Hospital-approved scrubs required
Requirements
- RRT credential required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in ICU, IMCU, and general floor settings
- 5+ years of ICU experience preferred
- NY state license required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include ventilator management — initiation, monitoring, and weaning support — as well as BiPAP and CPAP therapy adjustment
- Manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), moderate-flow oxygen therapy, and transport ventilators
- Perform tracheostomy care and airway management
- Participate in patient transport with appropriate airway and oxygenation support
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis
- Assist with bronchoscopic procedures and conduct home oxygen evaluations
