Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures with 3-5 years of experience in advanced interventional vascular procedures.
Details
- Interventional Radiology department setting
- 4x10 hour AM shifts, 40 hours per week, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- On-call required, including weekends and holidays
- Precepts new staff and students in the department
Requirements
- ARRT certification required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- 3-5 years of experience as an Interventional Vascular Specialist, Interventional Radiology Technologist, or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic or cardiovascular technology
- ARRT-R with VI or CV credential, or RCIS certification required
- Travel experience preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment and troubleshooting required
- Proficiency with specialty devices such as laser, penumbra, Inari, and shockwave
- Experience with multiple wire exchanges, long wires, and OTW balloons required
- Knowledge of vascular anatomy and lesion recognition required
- Understanding of radiation safety principles required
Additional Information
- Assists in advanced procedures such as pulmonary thrombectomy, AAA, TEVAR, and FEVAR
- Circulates, monitors, and scrubs all Interventional Vascular procedures
- Troubleshoots imaging equipment in collaboration with biomedical engineers
- Manages access sites including sheath removal and hematoma assessment
- Participates in procedural charging and supply management
- Cross-trains as needed to support departmental needs
- Communicates effectively with team, patients, families, and medical staff
- Able to act quickly and assist physicians during high-risk or emergency situations
- Hospital-provided dress code
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible unless an exception is granted
- Returning employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year, or 18 months if returning to the same facility
