Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a CA RN license and at least 3 years of PED CVICU experience.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (CVPICU) at an academic medical center
- Care for pediatric cardiovascular patients including those with congenital heart disease/repair, ECMO, heart transplant, and VAD support
- 12-hour variable Day and Night shifts (3x12), rotating between 7:00-19:00 and 19:00-7:00
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating may be required to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Pediatric CVICU experience required
- PICU and NICU experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, CVP monitoring, and arrhythmia management
- Experience managing arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines preferred
- Proficiency in IV vasopressor administration and continuous sedation
- 2 references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric cardiovascular patients
- Perform respiratory, renal, cardiovascular, and infectious disease-related nursing interventions as needed
- Any prior employment with a University of California medical facility or its acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally not placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work together on the same unit
- All requested RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager at offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract, and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Completion of required pre-start and annual training modules
