Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Birth Center setting, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and proficiency in cervical exams, C-section circulating, and fetal monitoring.
Details
- Work in a Birth Center with 20 total beds: 12 L&D, 8 PP/Antepartum (including 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 ORs), and a 6-bed Level II NICU
- Patient population includes laboring patients, antepartum, and postpartum mothers and newborns
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- 21-week contract duration
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Must be proficient in cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, amnioinfusions, epidural support, IV placement, Pitocin administration, and fetal monitoring
- Must be able to circulate C-sections
- Baby catching/receiving skills required
- APGAR scoring and breastfeeding knowledge required
- Comfort with all aspects of postpartum care from transition to discharge for both mother and baby strongly preferred
- At least one supervisory reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub experience is a bonus — a Scrub Tech is always on site, but scrub-trained RNs may be called upon for sick call coverage
- Teal scrubs are provided by the facility
- NP is available on call for support
- Multilingual candidates (Russian or Spanish) are preferred given the patient population
- Candidates may submit with a pending WA license, provided proof of application is included
