Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a hospital in Statesboro, GA, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and at least 2 previously completed travel assignments in the specialty.

Details

• 13-week contract in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital in Statesboro, GA
• Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM, every other weekend required
• On-call required: 2 twelve-hour call shifts per every 6 weeks, with at least one being a weekend shift
• Floating required between departments within the Women's Pavilion
• Unit consists of 13 beds: 8 LDRs and 5 triage beds
• Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 per AWHONN Staffing Standards
• Patient population includes laboring, antepartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal patients (20 weeks and up)
• EMR: CPN (GE) and Cerner — Cerner experience preferred
• Block scheduling may be accommodated if weekend requirements are met

Requirements

• Active RN license in GA or a Compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP required — no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the start date
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
• Minimum 2 previously completed travel assignments in L&D required
• Must be able to pass an EKG
• CPN (GE) experience preferred, Cerner experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring and assisting laboring patients, communicating with providers, circulating in the OR for cesarean sections (preferred), attending deliveries to support newborn resuscitation, recovering vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and providing antepartum care in L&D
• Nurse holds shift accountability for care across antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases using the Nursing Process
• Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, and leadership in care planning and delegation
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• RTO is accepted as long as weekend requirements are met; requests must be less than one week in duration
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
• This position does not support first-time travelers — a minimum of 2 completed L&D travel assignments is required
