Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a PACU/Recovery Room role requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care PACU experience and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Recovery Room (PACU) of a hospital setting with 30 beds
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse/CNC and 12 nurses; night shift typically has 2 RNs, sometimes on call rather than scheduled
• Patient ratios of 1 RN:2 patients or 1 RN:1 patient depending on acuity
• Common procedures include craniotomies and orthopedic cases
• Uses Meditech EMR
• 13-week assignment with a 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM shift schedule
• On-call required with a 30-minute response time

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PACU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• Flexibility with hours preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to surgical patients including craniotomy and orthopedic cases
• Great attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure are valued traits
• Patient experience is a top priority on this unit
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
