Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience for a combo IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab position requiring ARRT or RCIS and ACLS.
Details
- Combo lab setting covering Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, Vascular, and EP procedures — approximately 80% IR and 10% each of other procedure types
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Device implant cases include PPM and ICD
- Procedures include left and right heart catheterization, carotid stenting, mesenteric angiogram, renal artery stent placement, ureteral stent placement, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, internal/external biliary drainage, catheter/drain exchange, paracentesis, thoracentesis, kyphoplasties, and biopsies
- Equipment includes GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Penumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System/Implanta Plasma Blade Cutter, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, SonoSite S2000 Ultrasound, IABP, and Impella
- 5x8-hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Call requirement of a minimum of 7 call days per month, typically two call days per week for two weeks and one call weekend per month; additional coverage may be required on a rotating basis
- STEMI callback time is 30 minutes; IR callback time is determined by procedure type
- On-call team consists of three staff members, including one RN
- Every third weekend required
- No floating requirement
- No holiday RTO for this role; candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/IR experience required; this role is approximately 90% IR
- ARRT (R) or RCIS required; ACLS and BLS required
- ARRT Advanced Cert, CCI RCES, and RCIS with medication experience preferred
- Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
- Experience with telemetry and accurate monitoring required
- EKG lead placement experience preferred
- Ability to work with adult and geriatric patient populations
- NC or Compact state license required if applicable
- Two supervisor/manager professional references from within the past 2 years required (pending at time of consideration is acceptable, but required prior to start)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting providers during diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures, scrubbing, and circulating; medication administration is performed by RN only
- Techs begin directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions EMR training is completed
- Orientation is 40–80 hours; weekly orientation schedule
- Pre-start online modules are required (approximately 8–10 hours for acute care roles) and must be completed annually
- Scrubs are provided
- RTO of up to 7 days may be approved (excluding holidays); no RTO is permitted during the first week of assignment, and no additional RTO may be requested after signing
- Candidates who were previously employed (permanent, PRN, or EP staff) at this facility or its affiliate system must wait 12 months before applying; prior employment history must be disclosed
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a lower rate
- Travel pairs are permitted provided they are on different units and have their own transportation
