Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab position requiring 2 years of acute MS/rehab experience, a rotating 36/48-hour schedule, and an active KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute inpatient rehab unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule rotating between 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00–19:30), totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
- Patient ratios of 1:5–6, which may fluctuate with census
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Every other weekend required
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
- Charting system: Meditech (preferred)
- Skills include IV therapy, blood administration, central line/PICC care, orthopedic care, total joint replacement, feeding tube management, wound care, and stroke scale assessment
Requirements
- Active KY state or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration — no exceptions
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale; ACLS (AHA) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute med/surg or inpatient rehab RN experience required
- Valid driver's license with address matching permanent address required
- Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
- 13-week contract
- Orientation is held on a bi-weekly basis
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
- Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
- After working one cumulative year within the system, travelers must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; pairs will not be placed on the same shift or unit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
