Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with ASHA CCC certification and at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week inpatient acute care assignment at a critical access hospital in North Dakota.
Details
- Work in an inpatient acute care setting at a 25-bed critical access hospital
- Speech Therapy unit covering primarily outpatient caseload with occasional inpatient and rare home health coverage as needed
- Treats patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Assessment and treatment of aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitive/linguistic deficits, TBI, voice disorders, laryngectomy, cleft palate, fluency disorders, and dysphagia
- Performs swallow assessments and videofluoroscopy procedures
- Charting in Epic (EMR); TIMS used for videofluoroscopy documentation
- Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (8-hour shifts with 30-minute lunch)
- Position operates as the sole SLP on staff
Requirements
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Valid North Dakota SLP license required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required
- Experience performing swallow assessments and videofluoroscopy required
- Competency providing care across all age groups required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Serves the speech, language, and dysphagia needs of inpatient, outpatient, and home care patients through assessment, individualized therapy planning and implementation, family and staff education, and discharge planning for continued treatment
- Collaborates with PT, OT, and Audiology as part of the interdisciplinary care team
- Orientation is approximately 8 hours during the first week; required online modules must be completed prior to start
