Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1-2 years of experience and an active OK or Compact RN license.

Details

• 25-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15) with option for 36 or 48 hours weekly
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope to like units, with brief unit orientation provided
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• EPIC charting system used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• 1-2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Experience with 1:5 patient ratio preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care and management skills
• Medication administration experience including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac experience
• Respiratory skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oral suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Surgical drain management experience
• Telemetry/remote cardiac monitoring experience
• Rapid response/code team experience

• Former employees must have been separated from permanent staff for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO must be submitted and approved by the manager, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
