Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1-2 years of experience and an active OK or Compact RN license.
Details
- 25-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15) with option for 36 or 48 hours weekly
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope to like units, with brief unit orientation provided
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
- EPIC charting system used, experience preferred
Requirements

- Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- 1-2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Experience with 1:5 patient ratio preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience with peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care and management skills
- Medication administration experience including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
- Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac experience
- Respiratory skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oral suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
- Surgical drain management experience
- Telemetry/remote cardiac monitoring experience
- Rapid response/code team experience

- Former employees must have been separated from permanent staff for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- RTO must be submitted and approved by the manager, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
