Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring AWHONN Intermediate certification and NM or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 facility births per month
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend requirement of 4-6 shifts per 6 weeks
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
• Care encompasses antepartum, labor and delivery, and high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Assists with C-section circulation and recovery

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or compact) required, pending NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP (pending certifications accepted)
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, not including new graduate orientation
• Experience with any electronic charting system required; Epic experience preferred
• Skilled in fetal monitoring (external fetal heart monitoring), sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical patient triage
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as locals are not accepted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Limited RTO auto-approved at time of submission, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
