Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Trauma Level I experience and a CA RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds
- 13-week assignment with Day shift schedule (4x12 Hours, 7:00-19:00), with variable start times of 7:00 or 9:00
- May require covering one night shift during the contract as needed
- Weekend shifts required
- On-call required, with call distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks, potentially up to 6-8 shifts (including nights, evenings, and weekends) within that period
- Floating required between like units and potentially to nearby affiliate/sister hospitals
- Uses Epic charting system
- Scrub attire is provided for OR/Endo/L&D/PACU
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of OR experience required, 5 years preferred
- Trauma Level I hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical cases required due to trauma center status
- Epic charting system experience required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Must provide SSN and DOB for compliance purposes
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and/or scrub RN duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, vascular, neurology, urology, ENT, gynecology, plastics, thoracic, and robotic-assisted procedures
- Utilize specialized equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, cell saver, and Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
- Follow emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted, though a 50-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- RTO must be submitted and included at the time of application
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Free parking available on-site
