Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active PA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Intensive Care Unit setting in a hospital environment
• Open to 1 RN for day shift and 1 RN for night shift on a rotating basis
• Day shift 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30) or Night shift 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital
• Must be willing to float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills required including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Cardiovascular skills required including CVP monitoring, sheath removal, and Swan Ganz monitoring
• Medication management skills required including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
• Neurological skills required including CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, and care of post-craniotomy/post-neurosurgery patients
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG/ECG required
• IV insulin protocol experience required
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients across a wide range of complex conditions
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Travel pairs accepted based on facility need, though the same schedule cannot be guaranteed
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
