Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Surgical Float position requiring strong ortho experience and Cerner charting experience for first-time travelers.

Details

• Medical Surgical Float unit within a Level II Trauma, major teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:00
• Contract runs through winter holiday coverage until 01/04/2027
• Schedule is sent in 8-week increments
• Required to meet full-time weekend requirement of 4 Saturdays and 4 Sundays
• No on-call requirements
• Float within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• Strong orthopedic experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required for first-time travelers
• Pending licenses not accepted

Additional Information

• Facility is a Short Term Acute Care, major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) with 330 total staffed beds
• First-time travelers accepted if they have Cerner experience
• Only one of the three major holidays may be requested off, subject to client approval
• Standard block scheduling not guaranteed, though facility will attempt to accommodate
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
• Black scrubs required, or a Cabell T-shirt may be worn in place of a scrub top
• Surgery scrubs are provided and required when reporting to the Surgery department
• Free parking available for travelers in the lot and parking garage
