Description
American Traveler is hiring a Home Health/Hospice RN with a SD or compact RN license to provide dual-role field care in Rapid City.
Details
- Field-based home health and hospice position serving patients in their homes
- Dual role providing both home health and hospice care with training and support provided
- Routine caseload of 5-6 patients per day with approximately 2 admissions per day
- Works alongside an LPN managing a combined caseload of 20-25 patients, seeing each patient once per week
- Uses Epic Remote charting system
- Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
- Weekend rotation required every third weekend
- On-call required, up to one 12-hour call shift per week
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active RN license (South Dakota or Compact) required
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver's license required
- Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program required
- Experience with OASIS, hospice philosophy, and infection control practices required
- Skilled in wound vac management, wound care, PICC line dressing changes, port access, IV infusions, drain management, and catheter insertion
- Ability to draw labs in the home setting
- Ability to drive at night required
- Strong critical thinking skills required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive home health and hospice nursing care in the field
- CNA support is provided to patients in the home
- Clinical Resource Nurse and Designated Case Managers available per region
- Nurse independently performs phlebotomy and IV/VAT services in the home
- Orientation takes place in the field with an office base located in Rapid City, SD
- Will work scheduled shifts on holidays that fall on weekdays
- Scrub color is flexible, business casual dress also acceptable
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers considered if they have home health and hospice experience
- Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility
- Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
- Facility is known for being very traveler-friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
