Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Oncology Infusion position requiring ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification and prior chemo/immunotherapy infusion experience.
Details
- Work in an outpatient oncology infusion clinic setting
- One of five comprehensive cancer care locations offering on-site chemotherapy education, social work, lab, and an infusion suite
- Provide chemotherapy and biotherapy infusions, blood product administration, IV iron, fluids and electrolytes, port lab draws and injections
- Deliver patient and family education and emotional support
- Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with no alternative schedules
- No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
- 26-week contract assignment
Requirements
- Active North Carolina RN license (Standard or Compact)
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification required (ONS Fundamentals certification not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of outpatient chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required
- BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital-affiliated outpatient setting
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and plan patient care
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide relevant education
- Participate in discharge planning and identify patients at high risk for complex discharge needs
- Promote a safe, clean, and cost-effective care environment
- Clinic closed on all major holidays and weekends
