Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intensive Care Unit position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• setsetting environment
• 16-bed adult ICU managing critical illness, ventilator patients, and post-op care
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2
• Average patient length of stay is 3-7 days
• Rotating day and night shift schedule
• 36 hours per week at 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• May be scheduled for holiday coverage based on need
• Can be placed on standby call once per pay period

Requirements

• NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI-B certifications required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a collaborative, detail-oriented team environment
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process while reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex medical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity and cost-effective care
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
