Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI Lab position requiring at least 1 year of GI nursing experience and weekly on-call coverage.

Details

  • Work in a GI Lab unit with 11 pre/post bays and 3 procedure rooms
  • Unit exclusively services GI patients
  • Adult-geriatric patient population
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • On-call required once per week from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 3 weekend on-call shifts per contract, Friday 3:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
  • Involves procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, EUS, ERCP, and esophageal varices banding
  • Uses equipment including balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, polyp snares, and lithotripters
  • Responsibilities include circulating, specimen handling/labeling, IV starts, airway management, and conscious/MAC sedation recovery
  • Both inpatient and outpatient endoscopy center settings

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required, in hand prior to start date
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of GI Lab nursing experience required
  • Previous travel experience required
  • EPIC charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with Provation system preferred
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide pre- and post-procedure care for GI patients including sedation recovery and airway management
  • Grey scrub color required
  • RTO limited to 2 requests per contract, must be submitted with candidate profile
  • Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • Orientation includes up to 4 hours of non-billable training modules completed through MyPath
