Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN Perioperative Circulator for an Adult Surgery unit requiring at least one year of recent acute operating room experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Adult Surgery department of a Level 1 trauma hospital
- Serve as Perioperative Circulator providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures
- Night shift schedule, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of experience in an acute operating room environment
- 6+ months of Level 1 trauma center experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of AORN Standards and professional nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- CNOR certification preferred
Additional Information
- Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities may be compromised during surgery or invasive procedures
- Document and evaluate all components of perioperative patient care using the nursing process
- Individualize patient care based on health status, age, and procedure type
- Work effectively as part of a specialized surgical care team
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
- Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to allow for compliance clearance
- Returning workers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
