Description
American Traveler is looking for a Physical Therapist - Outpatient with 1+ year of experience and a valid CA PT license to provide orthopedic-focused rehabilitation care.
Details
- 13-week outpatient assignment in a PT Outpatient department
- Day shift schedule: Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (5x8)
- Average of 10-12 patients scheduled per day, typically 8-11 seen
- Caseload includes 1-3 evaluations per day with the remainder follow-up visits
- Appointments run 30 or 45 minutes in duration
- Primary focus on orthopedic rehabilitation with additional exposure to geriatric and neurological patient populations
- Potential for a blended role spanning outpatient, acute care, and inpatient rehabilitation settings
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Current PT license required if applicable
- Valid CA PT license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of PT experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred; candidates with acute care or inpatient rehabilitation experience also considered
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation across outpatient and related care settings
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidate consideration
- Local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for this role
- Minimal RTO is preferred at time of submission
