Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 1 year of experience and current PALS certification due to pediatric admissions on the unit.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
• Med/Surg Tele unit that admits pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30am to 6:00pm
• Minimum of 3 weekends required per 6 week period
• Possibility of on-call assignment based on unit needs
• Possibility of floating to other units or nearby affiliate hospital depending on census
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• PALS certification required prior to start per facility policy
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Tele experience required, with Med/Surg and ambulatory experience preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit that includes pediatric admissions
• Any scrub color accepted as long as professional appearance is maintained
• Maximum RTO is 7 days, with willingness to work at least 1 of 3 designated holidays if RTO falls during that period
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted, with local status defined as living within 50 miles of the facility
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
