Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Community Hem/Onc Infusion position requiring an active OR RN license, Chemo/ONS certification, and prior oncology and ambulatory infusion experience.
Details
- Community Hematology/Oncology Infusion setting across five clinic locations (Tualatin, Beaverton, NW Portland, Gresham, and East Portland)
- Primary site is Tualatin
- Adult hematology and general medical oncology patient population
- RN navigator role providing patient education and care coordination
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Epic charting system required
- Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Sunday variable schedule
- 13-week contract length
- Floating to any of the five clinic locations required based on department staffing needs, with preference given based on traveler's residence when possible
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- 2 years of oncology experience required
- 1 year of ambulatory infusion experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central line/PICC line care
- Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products
- Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies and chemotherapy side effects
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, IV infusions, and port/central line management
- Deliver patient and family education and care coordination for oncology patients
- Manage oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, sepsis, and extravasation injury
- Care for patients across a range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood-related cancers
- Follow isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and PPE protocols
- Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- Refusal to float to assigned clinic locations as requested may result in contract cancellation
- Returning staff or former travelers must have a gap of 6 months or more before returning
- RTO must be submitted upfront and not exceed 2 weeks
