Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - RRT with 2+ years of staff therapist experience for a Level I/II Trauma Center night shift position.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level I/II Trauma Center
- Adult and pediatric patient population across Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
- Night shift with 8 and 12-hour shifts, including 1900-0730, 2300-0730, and 1500-2330 rotations
- 36 hours per week on an every other weekend rotation with some holiday coverage
- On-call required once every 6-week scheduling period
- Epic charting system used
- Floating required as needed
Requirements
- WI Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required; pending license accepted at time of submission
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff respiratory therapist
- Pediatric and adult experience preferred
- Completion of a COARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
- NBRC RRT certification required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, and IMV
- Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to adult and pediatric patients in critical care and emergency settings
- Perform chest physiotherapy, including vest therapy, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Administer a range of medications via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer delivery systems
- Manage patients with conditions including ARDS, aspiration, cystic fibrosis, COVID-19, and fresh tracheostomy
- Care for neonatal and pediatric patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and RSV management
- Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Prior travel experience may be required depending on experience level
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
