Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of pediatric critical care experience for a children's hospital night shift position.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Therapy department at a children's hospital
• Pediatric patient population across NICU, CCU, PICU, and acute care floors
• Must be able to work in at least 2 of the 4 areas: NICU, CCU, PICU, and acute care floors
• Patient ratios based on a points system
• EPIC EMR system used
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend work required

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required, CRTs will not be accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience in Pediatric Critical Care (PICU/NICU/CCU)
• Recent acute care Pediatric RRT experience (PICU/NICU) within the current year required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP certification required for NICU assignments
• Illinois RRT license required if applicable
• Must be nicotine free
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccination documentation with both doses and lot numbers required, declinations not accepted
• At least one professional reference from within the last year required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy care to critically ill pediatric patients across multiple specialty units
• Strong first-time travelers may be considered if they meet all other qualifications
• Orientation sessions are held every Monday
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable, including kid-friendly designs
• Candidates will complete a skills checklist during the interview process to assess fit for specific unit areas
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a local rate
