Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care and emergency department experience for a night shift hospital position.
Details
- Works within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatrics
- Utilizes specialized equipment including Hamilton G5, PB 980, Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis TX, Cough Assist, Vest, and IPV
- Epic charting system preferred
- Night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Works an every-other-weekend (EOW) and every-other-holiday (EOH) rotation
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty
- Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- RRT, BLS, and ACLS certifications required
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred
- State license required if applicable
- Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Manage ventilator settings, troubleshoot alarms, and support weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Provide airway management including intubation/extubation assistance, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Administer aerosolized and inhaled medications, and perform chest physiotherapy
- Draw and interpret arterial blood gases
- Support neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, including high-risk delivery and specialized ventilation techniques
- Dark grey scrub color required
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a differential rate
- RTO requests must be approved by the facility and submitted with application
